Fun and looks nice but doesn't work as a useful instrument

This looks very pretty. There is however a major design flaw that renders the software useless for any practical application. I can only assume that it wasn't tested on a real phone, (the designer has never put up a shelf!). The software allows you to centre your tool/plumb/bubble using an alignment button (target) which is placed to the side of the screen. In fact it is placed exactly where your thumb is when you hold the phone looking at the level/bubble etc. So it is really easy to inadvertently reset the level and lose your setting so it no longer is set right when you use it. If you could lock out the screen in some way when in use that would solve this rather irritating 'feature'. Because many phones are not exactly square in shape, you do need to handle the phone to get it to rest squarely on the item you are trying to check for alignment. Making use of the hardware buttons would solve the problem, and promote this from eye candy into something really useful. Report abuse
